But you know..... ratchets, hoodrats and other ignorant Hood characters just can't accept that.
I think one of the most ignorant statements I've heard being made about my interests was,
"She likes that asian music? I think she wants to be Asian or something..."
Actually no, I love being Black, if I had a choice, I wouldnt change my race-- ever.
I'm very proud of my African and Native American roots
But does having Black pride mean I can't admire another culture's ways of Music, Fashion and overall living?
Apparently, yes.
I get the following questions on a daily basis
- Do you hate America?
- Do you think Asians are better?
- Why do you like Asian guys? Black guys arent good enough for you?
- But you don't even know what they're saying. (Its called going to google, and searching the English lyrics idiot. It's simple, go to google and type "Big Bang Until Whenever English lyrics. Its freaking simple!)
Some of them are good questions, but most the time people have such a needless attitude when asking-- which pisses me off. I don't mind you asking, "Can you understand what they are saying?" If you do ask, I will kindly tell you, "No, I just google the lyrics". But if you say something along the lines of, "Dude, you don't even know what they're saying anyway." I'm most likely going to get annoyed.
And heres the 1# question, why do you like Kpop? (Korean Pop)
And my answer is: It's way different than most American music, the lyrics usually have more emotion and meaning, which helps make it more easy to relate too. I mean, we've all heard that, "All he did was hurt me, I did everything for him" line, But alot of the time Kpop goes into more detail, like, telling about all the things the Broken Hearted girl did just to make him happy, even the tiny things. Which helps build more sympathy for the artist when it's revealed how they were hurt. )
And then I really hate when people say,
"Your the only non asian who likes it"
Actually, no. Korean girl group is making their U.S Debut with the help of Black Eyed Peas "Will. I. Am."
why? Such popularity in America. Kpop fans are of all races and shades.
(Hell. Most the Kpop fans I know arent even Asian)
but -sigh- I'm tired now. Goodnight.
